ERION Mantenimiento Ferroviario, S.A. was founded in January 2007, being its shareholders STADLER Rail Valencia (51%) and RENFE Operadora (49%).
The Company’s Board of Directors is evenly divided, with one-half of the members designated by STADLER and the other half by RENFE. This arrangement allows the two shareholders to share the management of the company’s operations while taking advantage of the synergies created by the manufacturing, technological and maintenance experience of STADLER and the maintenance expertise and resources of RENFE.
In the beginning, the Company’s activities focused on the maintenance of new locomotives manufactured by STADLER for public and private operators of the Spanish Rail Network and later expanded to other activities related to the maintenance of rolling stock in international markets.
ERION is certified as an Entity in Charge of Maintenance (EEM) on the basis of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/779 of 16 May 2019 laying down detailed provisions on a system of certification of entities in charge of maintenance of vehicles pursuant to Directive (EU) 2016/798 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
